Wells Viaduct (Broad River
Trestle) was one of the scenic highlights of the trip.
Camp Toccoa, a World War II paratrooper training base located nearby at the base of Currahee Mountain was the first training base for the "Easy Company", subject of the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers". The Currahee Military Museum is now housed in the renovated train depot downtown. The "Currahee Military Weekend & Camp Toccoa Reunion" is hosted each year in October.
Georgia Baptist Conference Center is situated on the shores of Lake Louise and includes a 1,000-seat Garrison Auditorium, adjacent to a 300 seat chapel. Meeting space at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center is abundant. There are 42 conference rooms designed to meet the needs of each conference planner. Numerous activities are hosted at the GBCC including concerts by the Toccoa Symphony Orchestra, and The Northeast Georgia Community Concert Series.
Locust Stake OHV area in the Chattahoochee National Forest area of Stephens County is suitable for: Off-road vehicles, including two, three and four-wheel vehicles, maximum width not to exceed 48". Designated trails within this trail system range from easy to most difficult. Users are required to stay on the signed trails to prevent damage to the area.
Toccoa Falls College was started in 1907 by Dr. Richard A. Forrest and is operated as a non-sectarian school teaching according to the faith and teaching of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. TFC offers frequent musical performances and concerts. Toccoa Falls is located on the campus. The Gate Cottage Restaurant offers a traditional Sunday buffet.

State Historic Site Designated a National Historic
Landmark, Traveler's Rest was built around 1815 and served as an inn for
traveler's on the newly constructed Unicoi Turnpike. In 1833 it became the
headquarters of the14,000 acre
Jarrett plantation. It is located very close to the site of the former
Cherokee
town
Tugaloo. Travelers Rest offers tours Wed - Sun and is the site of
"Traveling by Firelight" in Feb,
"Pioneer Days" in Sept, and occasional Living History Encampment.
